Brake Emission Measurement System

Gasboard-9806

The Gasbaord-9806 Brake Particulate Emission Measurement System is a comprehensive solution developed for standardized measurement of particulate emissions generated by brake wear under controlled conditions. Based on advanced Condensation Particle Counting (CPC) technology, Gasboard-9806 provides accurate and repeatable quantification of particulate mass and particle number in compliance with Euro 7 and UN GTR No. 24 requirements. Gasboard-9806 integrates several subsystems to achieve precise and repeatable brake-emission measurements. The inertia brake dynamometer provides controlled braking cycles for brake-wear particle generation. The duct control system and particle sampling system regulate flow and sampling conditions to ensure stable and representative aerosol delivery to the analysis unit. The CPC-based particle analysis system measures solid particle number (SPN) and total particle number (TPN) down to 10 nm and determines PM10 and PM2.5 mass concentration. The main control system manages overall coordination and data acquisition. The system enables accurate and stable dynamic benchmarking of brake-wear particle emissions, providing a reliable basis for predicting how factors such as material composition, brake size, duty cycle, and vehicle application influence emission levels and for guiding the optimization of brake-system design.

Gasboard-9806 is ideal for testing centers, vehicle manufacturers, and brake-component suppliers conducting type-approval, production-conformity, and R&D evaluations.

Application Background

Brake wear is a significant and growing contributor to non-exhaust, traffic-related particulate matter (PM), placing it under increasing scrutiny from regulatory bodies worldwide. The Euro 7 regulation (EU 2024/1257) sets stricter limits for vehicle emissions and extends regulation to non-exhaust sources. While CVS, engine emission measurment system, and PEMS remain essential for vehicle exhaust testing, the brake particle emissions have now become critical certification focus too.

Cubic Brake Particulate Emission Measurement System delivers a fully compliant, future-ready solution designed to meet global standards including UN GTR-24 and evolving CARB requirements, enabling accurate measurement of both particulate mass (PM10, PM2.5) and particle number (SPN10, TPN10). As non-exhaust particulate emissions take center stage in environmental regulation, our system ensures you stay ahead with reliable data, global acceptance, and scalable technology.
